Cross-Flow Exhaust System

The SpeedTech X-cellerator cross-flow exhaust was designed to offer the discerning Porsche enthusiast the ultimate exhaust system with a number of performance and sound options in one complete package.

Cross-Flow Design

By combining the exhaust pulses from both sides of the Porsche boxer motor with an "X" or "cross-flow" at the center of the
muffler, we have developed a unique, exotic sound that has to be heard to be appreciated.

Flow Options

The X-cellerator system includes optional catalytic converter
bypass pipes and muffler bypass pipes resulting in four possible exhaust configurations:

1) cat w/ muffler
2) cat w/ bypass pipe
3) no cat w/ muffler
4) no cat w/ bypass pipe

Our modular design incorporates V-Flange couplings for quick and easy swaps between the various sound and performance levels. This versatile design is very easy to use and results in a
quick installation or change-over.

Performance

The SpeedTech 997.1 TT X-cellerator cross-flow system saves
approximately 20 pounds of weight (full system w/ cats)
compared to the Porsche OEM exhaust. Additional weight
savings can be realized with use of the off road configurations. Whether lap times or straight line speed is your goal, the weight
savings will help yield quicker track times.

Our free flowing, straight through design, along with proprietary hi-flow “race” catalytic converters will improve the sound and performance of your Porsche. Increased torque and horsepower, faster track and ¼ mile times, better everyday performance and the pronounced engine note provide an enhanced driving experience for all types of uses.

All components are constructed of T304 stainless steel and the muffler is packed with stainless steel wool for years of trouble free performance, even under extreme use conditions. This is a very well built, top of the line exhaust system for the
discriminating enthusiast and very fitting for the Porsche turbo.

Sound

The SpeedTech X-cellerator cross-flow system emits a fantastic note and is available in four sound levels to suit a variety of tastes and uses:

• 2.5 quiet (conversation, phone calls, radio are all very comfortable, yet the exhaust still provides a great GT3 type sound on the exterior). A perfect daily driver system.

• 2.5 Sport (a little louder than the quiet version, but still very manageable). Also a good daily driver with a fantastic wail at WOT.

• 3.0 Moderate (cell phone calls begin to be a little strained).
Aggressive tone due to 3” muffler internals.

• 3.0 Loud (A full 3” system that screams at WOT. Phone calls are even more difficult, but still possible. This exhaust is
definitely being heard in the cabin and all around outside!) Sounds awesome / very aggressive both inside and out.

All above systems exhibit the trademark SpeedTech cross-flow, exotic sound.

Our 2.5 version is extremely quiet while cruising at low RPM’s and allows for easy cell phone usage, conversation and music enjoyment. Yet under acceleration it emits a very sporty, wonderful tuned sound. A perfect combination and aggressive enough for the majority of turbo owners!

If you desire a loud, aggressive sounding system, the 3.0
version is for you! The assertive tone on start-up is followed by a dominant cup car like wail at WOT. A true race car sound for the street. The 3” design will provide exceptional flow, from a stock car to even on the most powerful built cars.

Several tip options are available to tailor the performance, sound and look of your X-cellerator system:

Ceramic Coat Muffler Internals & Mid-Pipe - In race applications, it is common to ceramic coat the interior of the exhaust pipes to speed the flow of hot gasses, in order to gain crucial HP on race day. SpeedTech has borrowed from this technology and offers ceramic
coating of the internal pipes of our X-cellerator muffler and mid-pipes to maximize the exhaust flow. The muffler is coated internally to retain the heat in the pipes and the mid-pipe is treated on both sides for performance and looks. Ceramic coating these two pieces help to quickly clear the cylinder during the exhaust stroke.

High-flow cats enable instant turbo spool and have V-flange clamps for quick and easy swaps between components.

At the heart of the SpeedTech X-cellerator exhaust is the “X” or “cross-flow”, which mixes the
exhaust pulses from each bank of the motor creating a unique vacuum effect. This increases
performance by accelerating the exhaust flow through the system and contributes to the unique, exotic sound that even the most discerning Porsche owner will appreciate.

Enclosed in the stainless steel membrane is an innovative, proprietary muffler
perforation configuration developed through extensive testing. The end result is exceptional flow, superior sound attenuation and a fantastic exhaust note, which must be heard to be appreciated.
