996TT 2.5 X-Pipe, 2.5 SE Tips - John, Thank you for spending time answering all of my questions and helping me select the correct exhaust for my 2003 Porsche 996 twin turbo. I purchased the 2.5 inch x pipe with free flow cats, muffler delete and the special "sound engineered" exhaust tips.
I had the car in the shop for a large job starting with a clutch/flywheel replacement and many other preventive maintenance measures, like pinning the water pipes. And I added the exhaust upgrade to the list. When my mechanic called me to tell me the car was ready, he immediately said, "You are going to love the exhaust sound". He was so right. The sound is perfect and has no drone whatsoever. You can carry on a normal conversation while cruising, but when you step on it, the growl is simply addictive.
I took it to a Porsche event this morning and as soon as I got out of the car, everyone wanted to know about the exhaust. My car became a SpeedTech advertisement.
Please pass on my thanks to the entire team. This is truly a stunning product. And those exhaust tips set everything off perfectly.

991 Turbo Custom Valved 2.5 X-Pipe - This is such an amazing exhaust John. Thanks so much for the time and patience and making such a masterpiece.
I had very unique and specific requirements and after countless inquiries with other Porsche shops, it was a unanimous recommendation on SpeedTech.
When going with an exhaust, usually the biggest deciding factor is catted or catless. For me, I needed both. My Champion catless has served me well over the past 4 years, combining quietness with great flow that allowed my mild ES700 bolt-on to run very consistent trap speeds at 1/2 mile airstrip events on the dragy 146-147mph 1/4 mile and many passed over 180mph 1/2 mile including top run of 181.6mph. All on a full weight car that looks completely stock inside and out. But the SMELL of the catless exhaust was nauseating especially in stop and go driving. I drive through Laguna Beach to work and stopping at traffic lights I felt bad for everyone around me trying to enjoy life until they got noxious fumes from my car. And cold start with the Champion catless is pretty brutal and woke up neighbors on early morning runs.
So that's where the genius of SpeedTech comes in. I now have a catted and catless exhaust.
Valve open takes one second from a press of the remote. The exhaust dumps straight out the turbo and is insane. I have all the power I had before (and maybe more). Another press of the remote and the valves close and divert the exhaust through two 200 cell cats that are away from the turbos where the muffler cannister usually is. The cats are the only thing muffling the sound. The way I can describe the sound is this. It sounds like a combination of stock exhaust plus my GT3 at high rpm. Very "hollow". At start up, it's as quiet as stock. So no issues at all with cold start - super quiet and driving under 2,000rpm is just like stock. Over 2k starts getting hollow and bassy. Full WOT is very exotic and refined. It's very nice and pleasant for the daily drive.
Open the valve and well ?? Huge thx to SpeedTech. This car is soo much fun and I can take it out now and not have to ever worry like I did before. It's like a new car.
